Carnet de Passage

Die vorige twee jaar was dit werklik maklik om al die dokumente vir die Carnet-aansoek bymekaar te kry. Vir die ouens wat nie weet nie, die Carnet is die doeanedokument wat ‘n mens nodig het om met die motorfiets probleemloos oor al die grense te kom sonder om invoerbelasting te betaal.

Die jaar het die bankwaarborg probleme gegee. FNB het die AA dokument van alle kante bekyk en beruik en ge-juggle. Mariaan, wat nog altyd die ster was, het dit swaar gehad.

Toe ek uiteindelik na ‘n lang wagtyd die waarborg kon gaan haal, was die ry in die bank nog langer en nog stadiger. Ek haat enige ry. Wat ‘n vermorsing van tyd!

Die aansoek vir die Carnet is vanmiddag ingehandig. Een taak minder om te doen.

To apply for a Carnet was always easy in the past. Not this year. FNB was for some reason extremely cautious and juggled the AA document like a hot piece of iron. Mariaan, the star of FNB here in Naboom, tried her utmost best. Thanks Mariaan.

For those of you that don’t know a Carnet, it is a customs document that one needs that move a vehicle from one country to the next without paying import duties.

When I at last got the document from FNB the queue was long and slow. I hate any queue. What a waste of time.

I submitted the Carnet application ths afternoon. One item less on the To-Do list.
