Kyk na die regtertas aan die KLR

Ek het vanaand klere gepak vir 5 dae weg. Skaars 5 dae se klere kon ek daar inpas. Oor twee weke moet daardie regtertas die klere dra wat ek vier maande lank gaan dra!

Die naweek gebeur baie. Moreoggend laai ek die KLR op die trein Kaapstad toe. Saterdag reën ons in die Kaap nat soos op 7 Julie 2008 toe ons na Naboom2Germany in die Kaap aangekom het. Dinsdag gee ons die motorfietse af op die lughawe …

Vanaand het ek ‘n epos gekry wat my baie opgewonde gemaak het. ‘n Groot maatskappy wil moontlik een kind se operasiekoste dra. Gaan dit nie absoluut wonderlik wees nie? Dit gaan binnekort bevestig word. Dan het ek eposse van twee van ons uitruilleerlinge gehad wat geskryf het dat hulle by hulle skole besig is met geldinsamelings vir Op Smile.

Mag Ride for a Smile ‘n groot positiewe energie in ons land loslaat!

Have a look at the photograph of the KLR on the blog. I tried to squeeze clothes for 5 days into the inner bag of the pannier on the right hand side. In two weeks’ time that pannier has to carry the few pieces of clothes that I am going to wear for four months!

This weekend is going to be packed with exciting stuff. Tomorrow I am going to get the KLR back after its service at CyTech. Then follows the last ride in Gauteng for many thousands of kilometers, past Hillbrow and into the CBD of Johannesburg to Park Station where I am going to load the bike onto the train to Cape Town. On Saturday we will be soaked by the rain in the Cape, like the 7 July 2008, the day on which we arrived back in South Africa after Naboom2Germany.

Tonight I received an email that made me really excited. A big South African company is interested in donating money for the operation of one child. Ride for a Smile hasn’t started yet and just feel the energy already created! Two of our exchange pupils sent emails, telling me that they were busy in their schools, collecting money for Operation Smile.

May this ride be the starting point of a huge wave of positive enegry let loose in our beautiful country!
