Good news, good news, good news!

The last week and a half we had the most brilliant spring weather in the bushveld. Sunny days, balmy nights, and the fragrance of thousands and thousands of acacia and orange tree blossoms confirm why I want to live here and not in a city.

Last week I went with the KLR to O R Tambo for a flight to KZN. I saw next to the N1: Eland, Nyala, Impala, Waterbuck, Sebra, Blesbuck and Kudu! It felt like a game drive in the Kruger.

The good news is: My book “Noord van Naboom” is going to be translated into English!

Now I need your expert advice on an English title. The Afrikaans title was suggested by Emil Bosch, a person that I admire for all his artistic skills. I need a striking English title. Please help.

I look forward to your suggestions.

This morning I read the first few pages in English and was again struck by the same feeling of fear and excitement that I had had the day before I left on my first trip across Africa. Reading those lines felt just like 14 March 2008. It is precisely three and half years ago…

The KLR is doing fine. It is a few kilometers away from 80 000 km and is ready for a next trip.

In Europe and America summer is over. Good luck to you guys over there!

    Hi, Lodie

    Hoe gaan dit?

Baie dankie vir jou mooi woorde – ek waardeer dit baie.

Ek? Ek weet die tyd kom nader aan daardie oomblik wanneer ek weer ‘n fiets gaan hê! En dan kom ek kuier!

    Groete

  3. Dear Lodie,

i hope you remeber me ?

Thank you again for beeing a great host in March this year. It was a privilege to have known you and we really enjoyed the stop in the bushveld. We only wished we could stay longer…

We are looking forward to read your book in English (although I try to improve my Afrikaans 🙂 )

We gave Petra a german book for you, I don´t know if you recieved it yet. I will ask her for it.

I will think about a “catchy” title for your book in English 🙂

    Best wishes
    beste wense
