Keep on dreaming …

Good morning!

It was a lovely long weekend in South Africa. We celebrated Heritage Day, or Braai Day as it is popularly known under the people.

I completed my chemo therapy last week. Unfortunately it is still not the end of the hospital visits. A new tumor was discovered and in October I have to be back for a scan and treatment. I look forward to beating also this tumor.

Please remember our cheese and wine function on Saturday 9th November. Many friends come, some as far as East London and Kenhardt, Welkom and Bloemfontein. If it is possible please come and join us. The Magrietjies would benefit from your support. Click here for more information.

My own fundraising for the Magrietjies is already over R 10 000! My aim was to raise R 20 000 for the good ladies. Now I believe R 30 000 lies within reach before the end of November. When you get your salary end of September please donate a R 20 to the ladies. Click here for more information.

Yesterday I went for a ride again. Marietjie and Philip, two biker friends of Naboom, rode with. I wish I could keep on riding, it did me really good. Thanks Vannie and Marietjie!

Last week we had devastating veld fires close to Naboom. An area of 40 000 ha was destroyed. Have a look at the photographs.  It is heartbreaking. Many animals burnt to death.

Silent witness of the veld fire.

As far as the eye can see it is burnt.

A chocolate milk for me before riding back. Philip and Marietjie kept an eye on me and my riding skills after a long period of no riding.
